Holy Spirit parish was well represented on April 30 as 1000 members of 26 faith communities gathered to ask public officials:
To study a microtransit system to support many in Lexington who do not have access to public transportation or do not drive.
To consider an Elder Care program to enable older adults to age in place with dignity with community/neighborhood support.
The Walk for Justice with Bill Wofford and Kevin Steele led people from the church to the Central Bank Center to join a large cohort from Holy Spirit.
BUILD has helped to bring a robust affordable housing program to Lexington, restorative practices in the schools, drug treatment for women in the jails, and health care to thousands of residents. We will continue to work for a more just Lexington with special attention to the poor and the disadvantaged.
Congratulations and thanks to the many parishioners who attended the Nehemiah Action, showing once again that your love of God is manifested in love of neighbor. It is your presence that gives BUILD the power to accomplish great things in the city of Lexington! Special thanks to Fr. Anthony and Fr. Danny, who encouraged us to attend and showed us the way by their own participation. Thanks also to the many parish staff members and liturgical ministers who attended. May God bless you for your kindness!
