Easter is Everything!
Obviously, the Easter season is the most important time of year for us — without Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, there would be no Christian faith! Without our annual Easter Match fundraising efforts, our ministry here at Newman would be a fraction of its current size. Your support helps us reach more students every year; we couldn’t do it without you or without our Easter Match! This year, we want to highlight the importance of this Match and the critical role we all play, no matter your parish, diocese, even state or country, in supporting this ministry.
We support the Universal Church!
The Great Commission calls us to make disciples of all nations. At Newman we equip and form disciples to go into the world and spread God’s saving message. Once you have met the Risen Lord, you can’t keep it to yourself! Many of our students like Kylie (don’t miss her story here) find or refine their vocation while at Newman. Then, with the power of the Holy Spirit, they live The Great Commission. As our ministry grows, so does our impact on The Church!
Did you know…?
We are so grateful for the support our Student Ministry receives from the parishioners of Holy Spirit Parish. However, there are over 5,000 Catholic students at the University of Kentucky and about 40,000 total souls. Reaching all 40,000 is a daunting task, but we know we are called to find the “one”! This daunting task is bigger than our small parish. In fact, it’s bigger than our Diocese and even bigger than the state of Kentucky! But, our faithful supporters span the country and together, we will not rest until our mission is complete!
