My God will fully supply whatever you need, in accord with his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Comforting Gospel from the Weekend
At that time Jesus exclaimed:
“I give praise to you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth,
for although you have hidden these things
from the wise and the learned
you have revealed them to little ones.
Yes, Father, such has been your gracious will.
All things have been handed over to me by my Father.
No one knows the Son except the Father,
and no one knows the Father except the Son
and anyone to whom the Son wishes to reveal him.”
“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened,
and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,
for I am meek and humble of heart;
and you will find rest for yourselves.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden light.”
WATCHING THE CURVE
Please be careful out there!!!
Cases are spiking in so many places and looking at our curve in Kentucky it is very difficult to tell if we are plateauing or getting ready for a spike.
Remember masks and social distancing!!!
Congratulations to the Greg and Michele Jackson Family
Oliver Mattingly Jackson made a feisty entrance into our family on July 4th at 8:54 PM! He and I are both doing well, and his big sister and brother can’t wait to meet him. Praising God for this little miracle!
Gianna Catherine Allday was born at 12:30 am early Friday morning. We welcome Gianna to the Holy Spirit Parish family. Special congratulations to parishioners Carrie and Alan Allday, the proud parents. Thanks for your prayers because this was one of the most dangerous and complex obstetrical cases I have witnessed; and with God’s grace and the skillful work of doctors and nurses at UK, mother and baby are doing well.
Gianna was born at around 26 weeks gestation (14 weeks early) and weighed almost 2 pounds. She is in the Neonatal ICU at UK. Please continue to keep Gianna and the Allday family in your prayers.
Please keep the Guiglia family in your prayers.
Long time daily mass goer Dr. Theordore Guiglia passed away yesterday. Dr. Guiglia retired as a Major in the US Army. His post-military career was with UK College of Medicine/Medical Center. He retired after 29 years with UK. A large part of his time spent in Student Health Services.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia and his daughters Dr. Mary Guiglia and Elizabeth Crone (Stephen) as well as his grandchildren Mary Anne Farley(Cameron) and Dr. Andrew Crone.
This family is well known to our Holy Spirit Parish/Newman Center family so please keep them in your prayers.
We are planning on private burial service at Calvary Cemetary this week.
With us living streaming the Massed, homilies are available on our website in video format. On the home page ribbon just select homilies.
Again thanks to Glen for filming and Maggie for formatting.
Sunday Mass will be lived streamed at 11:30 am!!!
Daily Masses (except Saturdays) will be lived streamed from Holy Spirit Parish / Newman Center at 12:10 pm!!!
We are making the effort to live-stream all weekend masses so someone sitting in the courtyard can follow the Mass.
To access the live-streamed Masses:
-Go to YouTube and search Catholic Wildcats for our Catholic Wildcats YouTube Channel
-or use this link: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZCNv6PnFvZbnTr6TpCEEUw
THANKS, GLEN for all your hard work streaming the Masses!!!
Remember to reserve seats for weekend Masses if you choose to come.
Thanks for everyone’s patience and understanding.
The Bishop has stated that we can increase our capacity for Mass to 50% occupancy as long as social distancing is maintained. When we reconfigured our Church we had this increase in mind and set up for more than the 30% capacity. With social distancing, the capacity for Holy Spirit Parish is 143.
Just a couple of important reminders.
Remember wearing a mask is required to enter the building for Mass and the masks need to remain on during the entire Mass.
Again, thank you for your cooperation as we strive to keep everyone safe.
Don’t forget the courtyard option, we had several take advantage of that this weekend.
Remember, each weekend will require a new reservation to be made.
Please come as early as you can so we can get everyone seated and
know how many walk-ins we can bring in.
What to expect when returning to Mass
